Amanda's wedding

I am skipping ahead a little in time (still have Easter pics to post!), but wanted to get these pics posted for my friend, Amanda, who tied the knot on April 14th! I flew to Nashville, TN (sans Elias and Christopher) and met up with our mutual friend, Dawn, her husband and the newest addition to their family, Brynnley. We had a great time getting lost in Nashville and celebrating the BIG day of one of dearest (and oldest!) friends. I met Amanda at Christ Covenant Church when we were in kindergarten...over 20 years ago! Then we started 4th grade, along with Dawn, at Covenant Day School. We grew up together and have MANY awkward pre-teen memories together. Amanda and I went to the same high school and carpooled daily for 2 years. She was the primary witness to the famous "Who can sing the worst" radio contest I participated in on the way to school one morning. I won Amy Grant tickets. Hilarious. Amanda and Dawn were roomies at Appalachian State...so we've all pretty much stayed connected. It's all about Amanda, though, and without her, I don't think any of us would have stayed in touch for as long as we have. Happiest Returns sweet friend and wishes for a long and love-filled marriage!

Elias Walks!

Here is a video of Elias walking! It's a little fuzzy because I used my camera phone (and sent first to Nana, who hasn't seen him walking...which is why you'll hear me say "Say hi to Nana.")He is taking about 8-9 steps at a time and then either plops down OR reaches his desired destination. It is truly beautiful! I will try and take more as his walking improves!

Washington, DC trip

I am finding that it is hard to keep up with blogging when you work almost full time, take care of an active toddler all the time, and otherwise just stay pretty busy! We go on trips fairly frequently and in fact are a little behind in our picture posting again...
You gotta start somewhere, though, so we'll start with our pictures from our family trip to DC. We went March 26-30 and stayed in a fabulous place in Old Town Alexandria, VA, right outside the city. We stayed at a Wyndham resort using our timeshare points. It was great and we could not have asked for a better location...just steps to the Metro and a perfect sized condo, complete with a full kitchen (a must these days!)
Christopher and I live for trips and looking forward to them is what gets us through working! It was great to take Elias and let him experience lots of new things. He was fantastic and quite the laid back kiddo. He rarely complained, even when naps were missed, mealtimes were later than usual, and stroller time was quite lengthy!
I had never been to DC, so what an experience to see these famous places. As cheesy as it sounds, I almost teared up at the Lincoln Memorial. It was truly breathtaking!
We even fit in some visiting time with my oldest friend Shannon and her husband Eric. They just had a baby...Chase...and it was so fun to meet him! We also got to have a very late dinner with Christopher's Uncle Marty in downtown Baltimore, on the inner harbor. Beautiful...we'd like to go there again and visit!
So enjoy this picture slideshow...we sure enjoyed the experience!
